SAMBA - IT innovation in the medical domain
SAMBA is a research project, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany. SAMBA aims in implementing a service-oriented framework for developing flexible and generic applications in the domain of medical research and development. the project contains a lot of innovative aspects and deals with complex IT structures in the medical domain.
the SAMBA framework reuses existing standards such as DICOM but it provides a higher degree of abstraction making future developments much easier. This will lower the costs when developing IT applications in the medical domain.
